I share with you, in this post, the process of making Personalized Cards. From the first contact via the form on the website...to the shipping of your card.
The application form
The first step, for you, is to complete the form on the My Personalized Card page.
You specify the place of your choice, which can be a neighborhood, a village, a city or an entire country, and then the colors that you would like.
Some very useful details:
- if you liked an existing EmYLo map and you want the same colors, please let us know.
- if you wish to show particular places (my school, Grandma's house...), write them down in the remarks section.
Our discussions
I receive your form. The design phase begins.
I decide on the framing of the plan, taking into account the remarks specified but also the aesthetics. I already think about where the title will be and the format of the drawing: portrait or landscape. If necessary, I come back to you, by email, to complete the information I need.
A few days after your request, you receive an email with several files:
- the color palette I plan to use
- one (or more) digital images of your plan, colored or in black and white, which give you an idea of the result.
Now the choice is yours!
I'm waiting for your feedback and I'll make the project evolve according to your remarks.
Once you have validated the project, you proceed to the payment on the site, and I take the brushes!
Map realization
The map is drawn in pencil and then ironed in black ink. I use gouache, watercolor or alcohol markers to color the map.
Certificate of authenticity
It is a document, which accompanies your card and which proves that it is indeed an original made by my care.
On this certificate, there is a QR code. By scanning this QR code, you will go to an online art gallery that records certificates of authenticity. By adding the number of your card (written on the back) and that of the certificate, you will be able to verify the origin of your painting.
Shipping
Your card is packaged in a triangle tube, which ensures optimal protection. Shipped by Colissimo, you can follow the progress of the delivery and receive the package in less than 3 days*.

Access to derivate products
With your agreement, your original card is digitized, and the derived products will be available for purchase on the website www.emylo.fr . You will be able to order the Mug, bag or postcard version of your neighborhood!
NB: This will be a version where personal notes have been removed.
